William (Bill) Griffiths - Died 6th April 2012.
It is with great sadness that we report the news of Bill's death. Bill was a long serving, hard working and very
valuable member of our Club who had been awarded Life Membership for his significant contribution to the Club. Bill
had a wicked dry sense of humour which guaranteed you always had a laugh when playing with him. He was a regular in
our teams until ill health caught up with him a few years ago and he will be sorely
missed by all his Clubmates.
Bill's funeral is at 11am Wednesday 25th April at Thornhill Crematorium.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are extended to Carol, Graham and the rest of Bill's family on this sad occasion.

Our Club.
Penyrheol Bowling Club currently has 44 members and is based at Aneurin Park, Heol Aneurin, Penyrheol, Caerphilly. We field 2 male teams that both play in the Rhymney Valley League and the Cardiff Municipal League. The club is always on the lookout for new members and will extend a warm welcome to anyone who wishes to join. As part of our aim to promote the game of Bowls in the community we have four Accredited Coaches who will be running coaching sessions for new members throughout the season. A coaching programme for Year 6 pupils from Cwm Ifor Primary School was run again this year, it's third year, and it is hoped we can expand on this to include teenagers from St Cenydd school.
For the past 3 years we have held a Charity Fundraising Day on behalf of Velindre Hospital. These have been very well supported
by many local bowling clubs and we raised £1133 in 2009, £1678.88 in 2010 and topped it all by raising £1780 this year.
We look forward to bettering that total next season.
