David Thomas (Tobins) – Penyrheol Bowling Club

With regret we have to report the death of one of our longest serving members, Mr David Thomas (Tobins)

Dave has left behind a loving family and a bowling club that will miss him dearly.

Dave could, and would, get you engrossed in his tails of yesteryear. Tales of his footballing skills, snooker, and of course bowling.

The bowling club will be a poorer place without Dai and his many stories, but I'm sure that he will be meeting his old partner Fred Davies who died in 2008. Fred used to say Dai was never far behind him.

For those who never met Dai or Fred let me enlighten you. They were the Morcombe and Wise, Abbott and Costello and Laurel and Hardy of Penyrheol.

By now I'm sure Fred has made his way to the top of the table and is now telling St Peter to move over for his buddy Dai.

Dai, by now I'm sure you've told Fred and all the others eagerly listening to you that you taught those angels how to play the harp, and all the others how to pray, and are presently teaching them all how to play bowls.

Rest in peace Dai.

Your buddies at Penyrheol Bowling Club.
